Easy Painted Canvas Tutorial

I saw the cutest canvas online and I thought

"Hey, I can do that!"

So I gathered the materials that I didn't already have and I created this tutorial!  It is super easy and cheap!  I plan on creating several of these in different bright colors to hang up throughout my classroom.  Here is how you can make your own!

Step 1:
Gather your materials

1. Spray Paint
2. Clear Acrylic Sealer
3. Masking Tape
4. White Canvas

Step 2:
Tape your canvas

Tip:
Make sure that you tape the sides as well and bring the tape all the way to the back as shown.

Step 3:
Spray paint the canvas
Make sure the spray the sides as well
I used 3 coats

Tip:
I spray painted outside and put the canvas on an overturned bucket so that I could spray the sides easily.

Step 4:
Pull the tape off the canvas
(My boyfriend would not let me do this part.  He wanted to do it and was having too much fun, so I did not complain)

Step 5:
Spray at least 4 coats of Clear Acrylic Sealer

This is your final product
(It is more like the color above, but my camera took a darker picture indoor)

Tip:
If you want a cute way to hang and display your canvas, you can staple pretty ribbons and pearls to create loops to hang your masterpiece from.

Step 6:
Leave a comment on this blog and send me pictures of your beautiful creations!

XOXO

Always Something There to Remind Me

I am reading my first new book this summer!  It's called Always Something There to Remind Me by Beth Harbison.  I am almost finished and it's pretty great!

It is about a woman who is proposed to, but she is still holding on to an intense high school relationship that ended bitterly.  She is torn between accepting the proposal of a "perfect" man or delving into her past to try to figure out what went wrong.  Will she ever feel the love that she felt as a hungry teen?  I can't wait to see how it ends!
